The Grateful Shift

The seasons are not only a physical presence, but a spiritual and emotional one too. Just as the leaves begin to lose their color and fall, our bodies prepare for a spiritual hibernation. As the days get shorter and cooler, (in the Northern Hemisphere), our natural inclination is to go inwards and meditate on all that the year has brought us. You may find yourself tuning into your inner world and listening to your own inner voice. You could feel the need to slow down and take into account what are priorities in your life. Schedule essential oil massages, try a vinyasa flow yoga class, attend a moon ceremony, and harness into the inner rhythm of your own journey.
Everything in our physical bodies shifts, from our sleep patterns, to our hormones, stress levels, mood swings and libido. Our mental mind always becomes more sharp during the shorter days, as our brains have a shorter amount of time to expend energy, thus improving memory and brain function.

How to Shift with Gratitude

Essential Oils:

Bergamot: A light, sweet, uplifting aroma that soothes the nerves and reduces nervous tension, anxiety, and stress, all of which can help cure ailments associated with stress such as high blood pressure, insomnia, and depression.

Ylang Ylang: A beautiful, exotic floral essential oil attributed to its properties as an antidepressant, anti-seborrheic, antiseptic, aphrodisiac, nervine, and sedative substance. It is also used for lowering high blood pressure.

Grapefruit: A sharp, tart, and energizing scent that helps curb hangovers, headaches, mental fatigue and depression.

Ginger: This powerful and warming oil is beneficial for upset stomachs and supports digestion, heals infections, aids respiratory problems, and reduces inflammation.

Energy Clearing:

Palo Santo & Sage - Clearing your home at the beginning of each new season is a beautiful way to create space for new things.

Sage clears ALL energy, the good and the bad. Palo Santo on the other hand, is said to cleanse negative energy and bring in the good.
